Thanks for the report and the link to the bug-gnulib mailing list.

The build infrastructure has been updated to work with recent gnulib now.

The fix will be included in the next libiconv release.

Building gettext fails with recent versions of glibc (2.16+). The error occurs in files pulled in from gnulib, for example:

In file included from progname.c:26:0:
./stdio.h:1010:1: error: 'gets' undeclared here (not in a function)
make[3]: *** [progname.o] Error 1
make[3]: Leaving directory `/home/brandon/Projects/gsrc/gsrc/trunk/gnu/libiconv/work/libiconv-1.14/srclib'

The error exists in this file:

The problem has already been fixed upstream in gnulib, so it should be as simple as updating the code included in gettext.
