It would be very good to make them display differently, along with reminder accidentals and distinguishing slurs from ties.
I can see where to tweak the code to make this happen - the "hasanacc" field should become more than a simple boolean, saying what sort of accidental (reminder, cautionary, required) is present.
I'll push fixes for this as soon as the main branch is un-frozen.

Currently cautionary and reminder accidentals have the same appearance as each other and as "necessary" accidentals.

The fact that both look the same makes it hard to tell which one you've inserted. (The fact that they both look like normal accidentals is particularly annoying because of bug 36504, but the fact that they look the same as each other is definitely the bigger issue.)
