I think this has already been implemented with the two --debug-qt options and the recent debug ostreams. => closing.

I recently added a new DEBUG_QT_WIDGETS flag, command line option, menu item, etc. This reduces noise with qt debugging. What other options may be good? Events? Renderer?

Tue 06 Sep 2011 07:55:00 AM UTC, original submission:

Create one or more debugging options --debug-qt-xxx and
refrain from printing Qt messages for default builds.

Only exception: very annoying bugs which should
be reported by users when encountered. In that case,
you might want to print additional information,
so as to reproduce the bug.

Some of the debugging options might automatically be
enabled when configuring with --enable-debug.
