should be closed with git commit 0ddc66c1a58741ede1a523684e9df919608e6269

though i like to note that i also get such errors on GNU/Linux (Ubuntu 10.04) with the 0.7.6 and 0.7.5 snapshots from Ben's webspace, but they're gone with current git. here the errors i got:

0.7.6:

529: sparse array -- insert and delete with strides  FAILED (sparse-array.at:13)

sparse external arrays

530: in-memory sparse_xarray                         FAILED (sparse-xarray-test.at:44)

...

532: on-disk sparse_xarray                           FAILED (sparse-xarray-test.at:58)
533: on-disk sparse_xarray                           FAILED (sparse-xarray-test.at:59)
534: copying between in-memory sparse_xarrays        FAILED (sparse-xarray-test.at:63)
