Hey Mike,

Can you give a try after r4489? Not 100% sure it's fixed in all cases but seemed to work when I tried it for the expected case and the one you mention in this bug.

to reproduce:
- run: nano -
- hit CTRL+C
- hit CTRL+X
- hit n
- terminal is not properly restored, have to use `reset`

using nano-2.2.3 with:
Compiled options: --disable-justify --disable-wrapping-as-root --enable-color --enable-extra --enable-multibuffer --enable-nanorc --enable-utf8
