Greetings, and thanks for your report!  The files need a call to make-package at the top or in another file, but with this addition, work for me in current git master.  Please feel free to reopen if this is not the case for you.

In CLtL2, there is an example of how to construct two packages,
each in its own file but using functions from the other:

(Alchemy + Phlogiston).

I couldn't get it to compile with gcl. Is it possible? If so, how?
Is there a working example somewhere?
