updatedb would probably be best rewritten. I'm going to mark the updatedb-related bus as "Postponed" in order to consider them all in a batch, when I get around to the rewrite.

(Leslie P. Polzer did start on a rewrite some time back as part of the Summer of Code but there are some updatedb-related issues his changes don't resolve yet, I think)

regarding updatedb (see 11aug06 bug-findutils mail), it would be nice:
- to have a way to arbitrarily include/exclude, specifically:
- index only files (-type f), by allowing more terms before the -print[0];
- exclude, e.g., symlinks (-o type l) by allowing more terms inside the ( ... ) -prune expression.

It would also be nice for the --help output to be more informative; most of the text in Invoking updatedb text seems appropriate. And having examples in the manual or --help or both would be a final nice thing :).
