Using this makefile:

$ cat Makefile
.PHONY: foo.bar
.SECONDEXPANSION:
foo: $$(@\:%=%.bar); @echo $^

$ make
Makefile:3: Malformed target-specific variable definition
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
