When TeXmacs lauches a plug-in process (when using the pipe communication method), it (sometimes?) leaks an open filedescriptor to the process. For example:

my_plugin 5801 lionelm 4w REG 9,0 714 19613754 /home/lionelm/.TeXmacs/system/setup.scm

You probably want to set the "close on exec" flag on this file descriptor (with fcntl, F_SETFD, FD_CLOEXEC to 1), or close it explicitly in the forked process before doing exec().
